Safe and Engaging Learning environments

GOAL 1: By 2025, all students, staff and families will consistently know and utilize safety and security protocols, and understand their unique roles in emergencies.

Trainings since November

  • Vector Training

    • Ensure new staff have completed mandatory training for 100% of staff trained.

  • Incident Command at each school

    • Create emergency job assignments and review responsibilities during an emergency. 

  • Emergency Radio Usage Protocol 

    • Guidelines and protocols for use of emergency radios.

  • One-Button to Contact the Office & How to Use in an Emergency 

    • Office contact button on each phone that connects to the office.  

    • Can be utilized in an emergency for quick contact. 

  • Emergency Radio Checks 

    • Check-in and retraining when concerns arise during radio checks. 

  • Staff safety review/training of SRP. Review of each action, response and scenarios.

GOAL 3: By 2027, we will secure funds through a bond and begin implementation to improve and expand facilities.

  • Continued with building assessments to include Estaham Campus and shared with LR-CPC and School Board

  • The Community Bond Planning Committee has met starting in December to review the recommendations of the LR-CPC, student enrollment projections, input from student focus groups, and explore bond financing scenarios.

  • Three board members are participating on the Community Bond Planning Committee. 

  • The Community Bnd Planning Committee has toured schools throughout the metro area to explore possibilities for improvements to our elementary schools.

  • Staff and Board members have attended conferences to learn about both the bond development process and key themes that may be included in the next bond (i.e. Safety/Security, CTE).

  • Community Listening Sessions are scheduled in March/April at all of the elementary buildings.

  • Community polls are underway. In November the State of the District Poll was taken and in March a poll for communities priorities and what financing scenarios they most strongly support.

  • CFO and two Fiscal Team payroll members attended Oregon Association of Business Officials Budget Symposium in February to set the foundation for our district's budget planning for the 2024-2025 fiscal year and beyond.

Superintendent, CFO, 2 Board members, Communications Coordinator, Bond Program Coordinator, Bond and Operations Program Coordinator attended the OSBA Bonds, Ballots & Buildings Conference in February.
