Priority II: Career and College Readiness
We will work to ensure that all students are prepared for postsecondary success, whether that be in a career or continued education by providing access to a well-rounded education that develops a broad range of skills and competencies. We will provide access to rigorous coursework and real-world learning experiences, as well as opportunities for career exploration and guidance.
Goal 1: By 2027, all students will have a 6-year plan (7-12th grade)
Year 1 Goals:
By 2024, we will enroll all 6th grade students in Naviance in the Spring and begin using its resources and tools.
By 2024, all middle school students will start a portfolio, and all high school students will use Naviance at least twice annually to interact with their 6-year plan.
By 2024, all 9th grader students will identify a career-related learning (CRL) area of interest in Naviance at the end of their school year as they forecast for 10th grade.
Goal 2: By 2027, all classroom teachers will tie their units or instructional content to career and college readiness at least quarterly.
Year 1 Goals:
By 2024, Career and College Coordinators and Counselors will develop 8th grade career pathway overviews for forecasting.
By 2024, High School Career and College Coordinators will create systems for monitoring and supporting various career-related learning opportunities. Data will be used to expand options or connections via student requests.
Goal 3: By 2027, all students will have a post-secondary plan for at least two years out of high school and be prepared to execute it.
Year 1 Goals:
By 2024, all students served on (Individualized Education Programs) IEPs will have a post-high school plan for life success.
By 2024, community partnerships will increase by 15% to enable us to facilitate junior internships (approximately 100 students).
